On Parrisiusstrasse in Berlin-Koepenick, the careful refurbishment and extension of an existing complex has created modern living spaces with a distinctive character. The existing side wings have been redesigned and now offer four maisonette flats as well as a single-storey flat with direct access to the inner courtyard – very much in the style of urban terraced houses.
The complex is complemented by a new four-storey building with an attic floor at the rear of the site, comprising 13 modern flats. Harmoniously integrated between the neighbouring buildings, the new building echoes their heights and blends naturally into the established surroundings.
A coordinated colour and material scheme unites old and new to create a harmonious overall appearance. Light-coloured clinker bricks and high-quality rendered façades lend the buildings a timeless aesthetic.
